Leukoplast, sterile slotted fleece compresses

Leukoplast, Sterile Slotted Non-Woven Gauze Pads

Sterile non-woven compresses with a slit—for drains, catheters, and tubes; soft and four-ply.

Description

Where a drainage tube, probe, or cannula exits the skin, the dressing must fit around the tube. This design features a built-in slit specifically for this purpose—the dressing is simply slipped on rather than cut to size. Slits cut by hand fray and leave fibers at the entry point.

The non-woven material is soft and therefore more comfortable than gauze; the dressings are four-ply and sterile-packed. Available in three sizes and in packs of 50 or 100.

Key Features

• Built-in slit—no cutting required, no loose fibers
• Soft nonwoven material, more comfortable than gauze compresses
• 4-ply
• Sterilely packaged
• Not made with natural rubber latex
• Sizes: 5 × 5 cm, 7.5 × 7.5 cm, and 10 × 10 cm; packs of 50 or 100 compresses

Applications

• Care of drainage outlet sites
• Care around catheters and cannulas
• Covering tracheostomy sites and similar openings

Summary

The pre-cut slit eliminates the need for trimming—and thus prevents frayed edges, which have no place at a drainage outlet.
